Priscilla Dunstan shares her breakthrough with Oprah. The Dunstan Baby Language system was launched in the United States shortly after Priscilla Dunstan was interviewed on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Discover what Oprah called, “The Secret Language of Babies” and why this is considered a breakthrough in infant care.  Parents learn how to settle their babies faster and end up with a happier baby that cries less and sleeps longer.  This is what every parent with a newborn wants to know!  Register to attend a Dunstan Baby Language class - learn to identify your infant’s basic needs on cue.

The Dunstan Baby Language System teaches you to hear exactly what your baby is communicating.  You will be able to interpret your infant’s sounds and cries – and respond to their needs quickly, effectively, and consistently. Regardless of the language the parents speak, every newborn can communicate and signal:

Hunger          Tiredness          The need to burp         Intestinal gas         Discomfort

Every parent should realize that their baby innately expresses physical needs with what we call “infant words.” The infant words are based on a baby’s natural physical reflexes and sounds – this is the basis of Dunstan Baby Language. Babies signal us with the infant words in the pre-crying stage. The combined reflex and sound are the baby’s first attempts at communication. Since this usually preempts the hysterical crying stage, parents have an opportunity to minimize stress for themselves and their baby – you don’t have to wait until your baby gets upset to meet their needs.

Your baby is calmly signaling mommy and daddy before the meltdown – but mommy and daddy aren’t responding, so baby takes things up a notch. Then another notch, and another – until there is a full blown, screeching red faced baby with tears streaming down little cheeks.

This is an example of how the infant word for hunger is derived: When a baby is hungry, the natural reflex is to suckle. As sound is added to suckling reflex, the Dunstan Baby ‘word’ for hunger occurs. The sooner the ‘word’ for hunger is identified, the sooner a parent can respond by feeding. As a result the baby will cry less or with less intensity.
